The Separation Wall (aka Separation Fence, Separation Barrier, Security Fence, and Apartheid Wall) is ostensibly built to protect Israelis from Palestinian attack. This rationale raises two questions.
First, even if the wall is necessary for security, why build it on Palestinian land (thus separating Palestinians from their fields and disrupting their lives in many other ways) rather than on the Green Line dividing Israel from the West Bank?
Second, although the wall provides some security in the short-term, doesn't the long-term hostility it generates demonstrate the need for other solutions?
