In October 2008 I travelled to Israel to attend a conference on Siege and Mental Health organized by the Gaza Community Mental Health Program and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization

Although the more than 100 participants - doctors, psychologists, academics, and others - had the required invitations to enter from Gaza humanitarian organizations, Israel refused us permits.

With supporters, we held a demontration outside the Gaza entry gate.
